Landscape Photography Workshop on Mull & Iona
From stretches of white sandy beaches and turquoise waters to expanses of rugged landscapes and fabulous opportunities for wildlife, Mull has some of the most varied and easily accessible scenery on the Inner Hebrides. It is ideal for a landscape photography workshop.
Birds of prey, seals, whale watching, otters on beaches with Highland cows. Wildlife is everywhere on Mull. Mull also has the most lovely waterfront capital around. Its easy access to Iona is another bonus. This tiny ancient island is made even more mystical by the lack of cars. We have the opportunity to wander around the beautiful turquoise waters filled with small boats and the famous Iona Abbey.
One of the highlights of this landscape photography workshop on Mull is a trip with Staffa tours to the Treshnish Isles. The large puffin colony nests on the hillside surrounded by wildflowers. Naturally inquisitive and without any fear of humans, you can sit quietly on the cliffs as puffins return with beaks full of fish and happily walk amongst us. The landscape photography opportunities on Mull are endless.
FIND YOUR OWN PATH
Take a few days out from the noise and pressures of everyday life. Being quiet and immersed in nature is the best way to find your own path.
Our aim is to help everyone on their own individual journey. There will be a flexible approach to our critique sessions. Some are comfortable in group discussions, others in 1-2-1’s, and we will accommodate all wherever possible. For those who need to work solo, those who are at their best when they have downtime in between group sessions, there is no need to worry. With two tutors, we can facilitate a flexible approach.
Each day will be flexible according to weather conditions. However, generally, we would be up early for breakfast and out to shoot in the morning at one location. Then a lunch break and an afternoon shoot. Each day will differ slightly, but we will have a mix of shooting, inspirational talks, and time to sit with you individually on any given day.
This is a landscape photography workshop on Mull for those who love the outdoors, truly wild and remote beautiful places, and a bit of luxury when they return. The focus is on your personal connection with the landscape and inspiring you to find your own style.
We have secured a private house set in 6 acres of grounds for our accommodation on the Isle of Mull. The house is full of historic character. It is a spacious and contemporary place where you can truly relax. Our in-house catering means we can eat in the comfort of the house after a long day outside. Meals will all be healthy, hearty and home-cooked.
I simply adore Scotland’s remote and wild places and spend a lot of my time exploring Scotland’s islands. From the Inner Hebrides to the Orkneys and as many of the Islands in between as I can get to. Leading a landscape photography workshop on Mull is one of my favourites.
My love of teaching and inspiring others in the landscapes leads me to feel like I have found my purpose in life. When someone else lights up and enjoys and understand their own creativity and vision, I am at my happiest. My work has been printed in Rough Guides, National Geographic Traveller, Camera Craft, Outdoor Photography Magazine.
Having been commissioned to travel to photograph in many countries around the world, I always just want to return the beautiful wild landscapes of Scotland.
