Seascapes of the Scottish Islands – a solo photography exhibition

Exhibtion, Scottish Islands

My exhibition at the Bosham Gallery near Chichester has just finished so I wanted to share some photographs from the how amazing the gallery looked with all my seascapes on the walls.

It was a real honour to exhibit in between exhibitions of Micheal Kenna, Charlie Waite and Steve McCurry. The driving force behind my work is my love of the water, in particular the sea. Solitude, introversion and quiet are the reasons behind my work. Why I shoot landscapes is of great interest to me; almost as important as the resulting image. As an introvert, my need for solitude in order to be creative is crucial. The images are a portrayal of how I feel when alone on these beautiful remote places. I feel at my most alive, most creative and happiest when I am in the midst of a beautiful, quiet and often wild, landscape. Even when the waves are roaring, it feels serene and calm to me.  My work questions the fast paced, loud and communicative world we live in and suggests that quiet, silence and solitude are positives that can bring creativity, happiness and beauty along with them.
