THROUGH THE LENS IN SWAZILAND

Swaziland is little more than a pinprick on an African map, but when it comes to beauty it packs a punch. Its highveld mountain ranges span as far as the eye can see, whilst in the foreground, zebra roam and antelope graze. Then venture into the lowland African savanna and the Big Five.

Watch the sunset as the sky’s light changes to clear starlit skies – perfect for magical long exposure shots. Swaziland has a slow and gentle pace, plus an abundance of interesting sights to capture; a photographer’s paradise. For beginners through to intermediate photographers, Margaret will run workshops including wildlife, landscape, people, time-lapse and long exposure demos. Also perfect for non photographers as Jenny will guide you through secret Swaziland.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE AFRICAN BUSH

Swaziland is a welcoming Kingdom with wonderfully stunning landscapes, friendly people and up close and personal wildlife sightings, ideal for a photographic safari.

This itinerary is designed for keen photographers where there is time spent honing your skills as well as workshops to enhance your skills with a professional photographer.

It equally caters for those who want to experience Africa but maybe not behind a lens all the time. With your own guide with you for the duration you walk in the reserves, learning to track animals, and truly immerse yourself into the African bush where your senses come alive.

For beginners to intermediate photographers – Margaret will run photographic workshops including wildlife, landscape, people and also time-lapse and long exposure demos. Also perfect for non-photographers – let Jenny show you secret Swaziland and experience genuine Africa.

JENNY BOWEN

Jenny Bowen – econogist, mountain leader, expedition leader, tour guide and author

My first job after graduating as an ecologist from Leeds University was in Africa. As the permanent ecologist for Raleigh International in Zimbabwe, I set up numerous conservation projects, managed hundreds of volunteers, collated scientific data and wrote many reports.  And it was here that I promptly fell in love with the continent.

Since Zimbabwe, I have spent many years working in Africa, have led expeditions to Africa as well as other far flung places, worked for a game capture unit in South Africa and set up conservation and community projects in Swaziland.

This led me to setting up my own business organising specialist holidays to the dark continent. I have run Sense Africa for 11 years and represent the The Kingdom of Swaziland in the UK at trade shows. I am a certified Swaziland Tour Leader and a qualified mountain leader (summer).

I have led expeditions to 14 far-flung countries including Morocco, Borneo, Vietnam and Costa Rica. I have a wealth of fascinating African wildlife factoids (often utterly useless) and apparently I do a very good camel impersonation…
